Regarding stricter enforcement of immigration laws among our illegal alien residents, Mayor Ed Schock said:
“I think measures like 287g are more symbolic than substantive, the city of Elgin has had no problems arresting and participating in deportation of aliens who have committed serious crimes. I don’t think that’s the issue. When we adopt measures like that that are more symbolic than substantive, we do put fear unnecessarily in segments of the community that we serve."
“On almost every police car in every municipality it says two things on the door, To serve and protect. Well, we can’t serve a segment of the population that’s afraid of us because they question the motives of certain actions that we take. So I think measures like 287g do more harm than good for our law enforcement officials. That’s why our police department recommended against its adoption.”
Excuse me, Mr. Schock, but I don’t feel served and protected when you allow these people to steal Social Security numbers, use our emergency rooms, take up space in our schools, and drive around uninsured. What about the protection of the faithful taxpayers?
Schock wasn’t the only one to dust off the welcome mat for illegal aliens. Elgin also was praised by the Latino advocate on the panel, Guadalupe Luna, who compared Elgin with other communities. Luna said: “You have communities that have a big history with all sorts of immigrants in their communities…and succeeded. Elgin has succeeded and didn’t have to resort to some of these anti-immigrant measures that I am seeing. I’m also seeing a divorce, a gap, between the hierarchy of law, in that a lot of these states that are choosing to go these anti-immigrant routes are ignoring the relationship between the federal government and the state. And so there’s a big gap here between what I’m seeing today comparable to other cities, Elgin being a point.”
Oh sure, there isn’t an ordinance on the books declaring us a Sanctuary City, but we can’t get the Mayor, City Council, or Police Chief to even identify the illegal aliens in custody and report them to Immigration, let alone train for additional authority.
If it walks like a duck and quacks like a duck…it must be a Sanctuary City.

Elsewhere in the USA,police officials are working feverishly,honestly,openly to address this huge problem. Honest sheriff JOE APIAO of Maricopa Cty.acts in direct conflict of crooked Phoenix police,jailing all illegals for court determination.This great nation has fallen so far that corrupt police chiefs openly refuse to enforce the laws.These crooked cops will do anything to protect pensions and jobs of family members,including committing crime.Elgin citizens time is running out,will you do your part?
ReplyDeleteAre we sure that Edward Schock really is who he say he is perhaps he has stolen someone's identity. Is this really the same man who took an oath to uphold the law and serve and protect the citizens of this community? clearly he has taken a personal position from his book of hidden agendas to do just the opposite. Mr. Schock continue to refuse to listen to the voices of the citizens of this community regarding the demands to adopt measures such as the 287g program to turn back the flow of illegal aliens flooding this city. Anonymous ask how he can sleep at night while refusing to partner with ICE to identify felon illegals well the obvious answer is "FINE" It is clear that he believes that he is doing the right thing. Having said that I think that his elevator do not reach the level in his brain where logic and thought takes place. What Elgin needs is a total overhaul of leadership, people with fresh ideas and the mental capacity to process what is good vs bad for this city Mr. Schock does not possess these attributes. When the next election is held let's see how many people in Elgin will put on their thinking caps and ELECT someone with functioning brains. Shock probably thinks the influx of all the illegals turns Elgin into a "big city" but what the city is turning in to is a "dangerous mess" a concrete jungle and too many people who can't communicate in English. It's a no brainer that English is the language spoken here this is the USA not MEXICO. We should not be denied services and jobs because we do not speak spanish. The illegals no matter where they come from should be denied services that are funded with tax payer dollars. Too many parasites living off of the fat of this land. They should take their fight back to Mexico and fight with Chavez not the citizens of Elgin and other cities in the US. Thanks to the leaders of this city starting with Ed Schock the flood gates are wide open. This is your opportunity Mr. Mayor to redeem yourself and do the right thing for the citizens of Elgin.

At the radio event WBEZ Fast EDDIE pointed the finger at his hand picked servant Womack as reason for refusal to engage 287G.How sick do you have to be to go to Texas to find a person who will violate U.S. law. How does she sleep at night? She refuse to work with ICE to detect FELON illegals from anywhere in the world.Of course , one of the council flunkies will lay out a line of lies about EPD working close with ICE. How long has Big Bill Gilliam been on the council???We can win acouple seats in the next election,let's begin recruiting past candidates who just missed last election. IT IS DISGUSTING AND SICK THAT THESE ELECTED OFFICIALS CONTINUE TO FAIL TO ENFORCE ALL LAWS AGAINST ALL POPULATIONS.hOPEFULLY, DOJ WILL EXAMINE OUR REQUEST AND OFFICIALLY BEGIN PROCESS TO TAKE OVER CONTROL OF A CORRUPT POLICE DEPARTMENT.
